Its no wonder that with people living longer that the newest trend in the housing market is Shared Housing. Shared housing has become all the rage! It continues to catch on!! At my age (47), I worry about where my parents will live as they enter their very senior years. My concern is that I know I would never put them in a home and yet they are prideful and would not like to live with me. How do I keep them feeling independent yet keep them close so I can keep an eye on them?
I recently visited a new housing track the other day in Morgan Hills called Morgan Heights located in Temecula, California and to my surprise there was a Shared Housing option. A 3529 square foot home that is two story but has a signature HomeShare single level Living Suite which includes a Private Entry, Bedroom with walk in closet, Bath, Living area and Kitchenette for the senior. The kitchenette is not set up for cooking but is set up for small refrigerator with some counter space for food preparation. This DR Horton home was well thought out for the family that was planning on having their parents reside with them, including a separate courtyard. The homes were gorgeous and the price was actually reasonable for what you are getting. There was a door and hallway that separated the suite from the home for a more private feel. Bravo DR Horton! www.teamreliablerealty.com
